SPC Star Talents Awards & Recognition - 2nd December 2005

The 'Star Talent Awards and Recognition' was organised by John Puczkowski, Community Development Manager, in association with Countryside Properties plc.  Three schools, The Boswells School, St. John Payne and New Hall School held workshops to find the most talented acts to compete in an exciting head to head talent competition.

The early stages of the competition saw each school present 15 acts which were whittled down to 10 by the panel of professional judges, consisting of Directors and Principles from the world of dance, theatre and performing arts.  Six of the best acts from each school were then short listed to go head-to-head in the grand final.

The finals were held on Friday 2nd December at Springfield Parish Centre, where 18 acts competed for the coveted laser crystal trophy donated by Springfield Parish Council and the £1,000 prize money, of which £750 went towards the winner's school.  The winning act this year was sisters Jade and Alanna Rider from the Boswells School, who sang and performed a dance routine to 'Hot Honey Rag' from Chicago.
