BOWERS HALL Maximum standing only capacity is 340 persons. Seated at tables, the Hall can accommodate approx. 180 (trestle tables) or 144 people using round function tables. Maximum number of people seating in rows is 224. Ample tables and chairs available. Full size, purpose built stage with back stage area (including wall mounted coat racks). Full sprung wood floor throughout. Full sized County Standard Badminton Court (with mobile posts and net available). Induction Loop for the hard of hearing. Noise Attenuation System with automatic power cut-out system to the DJ/Band, etc, should pre-set levels be exceeded or the emergency exit doors to the Hall be opened. Fully soundproofed, triple glazed and with suspended acoustic ceiling.
SPRINGFIELD ROOM Maximum standing capacity of 110 persons. For presentations, up to 66 people seated in rows can be accommodated. Tables and chairs are available. Fully sprung wood floor throughout. Induction Loop for the hard of hearing. The Springfield Room is our most popular room for children's parties with entertainers or arts and crafts and is available on Saturdays between 11.30am to 6pm and on Sundays between 12.30pm to 5.15pm.
CHELMER ROOM Maximum standing capacity of 55 persons, seated between 27 and 35. Tables and chairs available. Fully sprung wooden floor throughout.
KITCHEN The kitchen, which is situated off the central foyer but separate from all rooms, is equipped with ample worktops and power points. In addition there is a larder style fridge, a cooker, a microwave, hot water urn as well as kettles, coffee/tea service set, cups, saucers, side plates and cutlery.
BAR A separate bar is provided and situated in the foyer area. This is a fully licensed bar for sale and consumption on the premises only and is available for pre-booked events as required. All U.K. licensing laws are applicable.
CENTRAL FOYER Situated in the Centre of the building adjacent to the bar area, this foyer has snack and drinks vending machines.
TOILETS Separate toilets are provided for ladies, gentlemen, children and disabled. There is a wall mounted baby-change unit situated in the disabled toilet and both ladies and gents have sanitary vending. ANNEXE The annexe is a self-contained area which has its own fully fitted kitchen and toilets as well as open space. However, if more space is required inter-connecting double doors between the Annexe and the Chelmer Room have also been installed. For presentations, the annex can accommodate up to 42 people seated in rows. During term time on weekdays, Tiddlywinks, an Ofsted approved pre-school, operate in the Annex and the Chelmer Room. Sessions available are 9am to 12 Noon, 1pm to 4pm and 9am to 4pm. To make an appointment to view, contact Zoe or Penny or (01245) 360305 or (01245) 463245.. The Annex and Chelmer Room combined are perfect for children's parties and are available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. These rooms are also suitable for meetings for up to 30 people and are available some weekday evenings.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The Parish Centre is entirely on ground floor level with easy access for everyone to all areas. The kitchen is usually kept locked unless booked by a customer. A Flip Chart easel is available but customers must provide their own paper pad for clipping onto this and marker pens (not be used on the easel itself). By prior arrangement the Parish Centre together with local catering companies can provide food and beverages for buffet lunches, etc, if required. |
